L’Opéra de Québec ouvrira sa saison avec la Traviata de Verdi, les 20 (19 h), 23, 25 et 27 (20 h) octobre 2012, au Grand Théâtre de Québec.
Traviata, un chef-d’œuvre incontesté, mettra en vedette la soprano canadienne Laura Whalen dans le rôle de Violetta.

La Traviata! Un chef-d’œuvre aimé et admiré par tous! Profondeur des sentiments, musique sublime, mécanique dramatique implacable, tout est là pour que cet opéra gagne les cœurs.
Violetta, une courtisane de grand style, tient salon et reçoit de nombreux personnages influents. Alfredo, secrètement amoureux d’elle, lui ouvre son cœur. Celle-ci troublée, ne veut pas s’attacher à un seul homme… Elle sera éventuellement conquise, mais le drame prendra forme.
